ALDE Party President starts preparations for 2019 election manifesto drafting
Last week ALDE Party President Hans van Baalen MEP travelled to Talllinn to plan the drafting of the 2019 election manifesto with former Estonian Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas. During his visit, he also met with current Estonian Prime Minister Jüri Ratas.

German Liberals strike again
FDP scored its best ever result ever in Germany’s most populous state of North Rhine-Westfalia with 12.6% in last Sunday’s regional elections. This strong result is an important signal nation-wide ahead of the federal elections on 24 September.

Young Liberals gathered for Spring Congress in Stockholm
Last weekend 120 young liberals gathered in Stockholm for the Spring Congress of the European Liberal Youth (LYMEC). ALDE Party VP Fredrik Federley MEP and Liberalerna leader Jan Björklund welcomed the participants by expressing their views on liberalism in Europe.

Liberal local politicians lead on financial rules and social innovation
Double D66 success at last week’s European Committee of the Regions plenary with Michiel Rijsberman report on financial rules and Marcelle Hendrickx report on social innovation unanimously approved. Both sit together in the ALDE Group in the Committee of the Regions.

In almost 10 days the ALDE Party staff and friends will run the Brussels 20km to raise money for our European Women’s Academy.
