“Let’s think differently”, FDP’s slogan for German elections
German Liberals FDP presented this week some core elements of their campaign #WirDenkenNeu “(Let’s think differently”) ahead of the German federal elections in September. FDP leader Christian Lindner underlined that FDP will campaign based on optimism and driven by the desire to work for change.

EU-Japan trade agreement reached
After 18 intense of negotiating rounds, the EU and Japan have reached a political agreement in principle on an Economic Partnership Agreement. Commenting on the success, Liberal European Commissioner for Trade Cecilia Malmström said: “We believe in building bridges, not walls.”

Individual members to elect Congress delegates
The 37th Congress of the Alliance of Liberals & Democrats for Europe Party will take place from Friday 1 to Sunday 3 December in Amsterdam, Netherlands. This month, individual members will elect their Congress and Council delegates.

Individual members meet in Belgium and Germany
ALDE Party individual members remain active during the summer holidays. Belgian individual members met last week in Brussels to discuss the vision and mission of membership while Steering Committee member Chris Pyak addressed a group of Junge Liberale this week in Essen, Germany.
